- 2018: In the summer of 2018, he announced his candidacy for Alderman in Chicago’s 48th Ward as an Independent.
- 2019: He participated in Chicago’s Municipal election 2019 and received 16.25% (2,415 votes) of the total votes.
- 2020: David Earl William upheld Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in 2020 Democratic essential, and excitedly upheld Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the 2020 General political decision.
Political Affiliation:
- Democratic Party (2008-2012): David William started his political career by joining the Democrats. He joined this party in 2008 and remained here till 2012. He rejoined the Democrats back in 2020 and is currently its member.
- Republican Party (2013-2015): After leaving the Democrats, he became a republican in 2013 and remained here till 2015
- Libertarian Party (2016-2018): David Earl William joined the Libertarian party in 2016 and remained its member till 2018
- Independent (2018-2020): After leaving the Libertarian Party, David Williams became a non-partisan and contested the municipal election as an independent candidate in 2019.
