Feather Banners — Frequently Asked Questions
Though we make it easy to order exactly what you need online, read through some of our FAQs about feather banners.
What are feather banners?
We’ll start with the basics. A feather banner, also known as feather flags, are advertising banners that are used by businesses, event organizers, and anyone else who wants to promote something. The name is inspired by the shape of the flag, which is shaped like a bird’s feather or quill. Business owners love these flags because you can advertise without breaking the bank or taking up too much space. They are great for high-density areas and those events where you don’t have much room for advertising.
What types of feather banners are there?
Bowhead Flags
Bowhead flags are similar to feather banners, but they have more options in their shape, which include concave, angled, and straight.
-
Pre-Designed Feather Flags
Our clients love our pre-designed feather flags because they take the hard work out of it for you. Each premade design is 10ft in length and comes with popular themes like “Now Hiring,” “Open House,” “Welcome,” and so much more.
-
Teardrop Flags And Teardrop Banners
You can also choose teardrop-shaped flag banners ranging from 6 to 14 ft tall. You can select single or double-sided that are perfect for indoors and out. We even offer a lifetime warranty on the poles.
-
Rectangular Flag Banners
Rectangle flag banners are straightforward and come in four sizes to meet your needs.
Single-Sided Feather Banners
Maybe you only need to advertise on one side. Single-sided feather flags are light-weight and affordable. They are made by printing your image or graphic, or text on one single layer of fabric so that the back is a mirrored image with about 50-70% color bleed-through. You can choose left or right facing based on the direction of coming traffic.
Feather Banners Double-Sided Option with 3 Layers of Fabric
If you want your message to be seen from both sides, choose double-sided feather flags that are printed on two layers of fabric, with a block-out layer in between. There is zero see-through, meaning you can have the same or a different design on each side. As a result, you’ll be able to see your message no matter which direction the wind blows and the traffic comes from.

Feather Banners Trade Show Display Options
Logos for trade shows are a great idea because they look great paired with all of your other trade show equipment. They stand out, point people in the right direction, and help you give your booth the attention it deserves.
How long will feather banners last?
Depending on how well you care for your banner poles, how much UV radiation they receive, and the local climate, they may last anywhere from 3 to 10 years. Our staff will come out and replace any parts or banners that are damaged or faded. The average life of a flag is 1-3 years; however, it all depends on how carefully you look after them.
Will my printed fabric banner fabric fade?
Fabric banner colors will fade as a result of UV exposure. The colors on the flag, notably darker hues like black, deep red, and dark blue backgrounds, fade quicker than designs with lighter colors in UV exposure. The colors white, light blue, and yellow don’t fade as quickly in direct sunshine.
Are feather banners, feather flags, and feather flag banners the same thing? Are flag banners the same thing? How about teardrop banners and bowhead banners?
The terms feather banner, feather flags, and feather flag banners are all used interchangeably. We like to refer to them as feather flags, although they are known by various names depending on personal taste. They all signify the same thing; if you use any of those words, we will understand what you’re talking about.
Feather flags, teardrop banners, bowhead banners, and rectangular flag banners are all examples of the broad category of banners. Whether triangular or round, feather flags, teardrop banners, bowhead banners, and rectangular flags can all be classified as such.
A teardrop banner is a type of flag banner with a unique teardrop form. Bowhead banners are similar to feather flags but come in three different bottom designs.
Will my design cover the entire flag or just a portion of it?
We’ll go all the way to the edge to create a “wide-screen” effect, with one exception: one-day printing, where the pole pockets portion will be concealed by black or white canvas to save time.
Are your banners fireproof?
Although our banners are very flame resistant, most of our polyester goods will melt and burn if they come into touch with fire. Therefore, we recommend keeping all your feather flags away from sparks and flames.
Are the flag poles interchangeable between different banner sizes?
One single-sized banner may be flown from each of our flag poles. A large flag pole is thicker and will not accommodate a small or medium banner, while a big one may not support a tiny one. Make sure your banner matches the size of the corresponding pole. If you have concerns, please let us know.
Can I have different images on the front and back of double-sided feather banners?
Yep! You can have the same or different sides on each side of the wrap. When you pick product options, make sure to choose the Double-Sided Printing (3 Layers) choices.
What can we see on the back of a single-sided banner?
Please be aware that the design will bleed through rather than be printed on the back if you print a single-sided flag banner.
This means that it will be mirrored even though the design may be seen on the other side. Therefore, if you want your message to appear equally well on both sides, you must choose double-sided.
