You’ve heard of CBD. You’ve heard of THC. What you might not have heard of, however, is THCV.
THCV is the hottest new cannabinoid on the market. It’s said to curb the user’s appetite, thus helping them to lose or maintain their weight. But is it legit?
And, even more, how does it compare with the other popular cannabinoid, CBD? We’re going to discuss that very question below. Here are the differences between THCV vs. CBD.
What Is THCV?
Tetrahydrocannabivarin or THCV is a cannabinoid. It shares similarities with THC but offers an additional chain of atoms that produce variations in the way that it behaves within the body.
While THC produces a high, THCV does not, at least not to the same extent. Yes, it does have an intoxicating effect. However, it does not impair your faculties to the extent that THC does.
THCV helps users to relax and live in the moment. It staves off anxiety while producing a light and airy feeling.
What Is CBD?
CBD is probably the best known cannabinoid. Unlike THCV, CBD has very little to do with THC. It doesn’t intoxicate the user in any way, shape, or form, and is used primarily for pain relief and anxiety relief purposes.
The Benefits of CBD
The benefits of CBD are many. Most notably, it can be used to treat anxiety and physical pain, and, in particular, inflammation.
Note, though, that CBD is also used to treat depression, seizures, migraines, and PTSD. Some have found that it benefits those suffering from autoimmune disorders, including those with Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus.
Perhaps the biggest benefit of CBD is that it does these things without producing a high. Therefore, it can be used in any situation with little worry.
The Benefits of THCV
THCV does provide some benefits when it comes to reducing anxiety and inflammation. That said, it’s most notable for its potential weight loss benefits.
While there is not yet anything definitive as far as its weight loss benefits go, early studies show that it does have the potential to treat obesity and maybe even diabetes. So, if you have diabetes, or if you’re trying to lose weight, it might be worth a try.
In addition, THCV does provide some level of a high. Not, it’s not going to get you as high as THC does. However, it will leave you feeling intoxicated, and, if you’re into that sort of thing, it can definitely be a benefit.

THCV and CBD Both Have Their Place
When push comes to shove, THCV and CBD both have their place. While these cannabinoids have some similarities, they ultimately provide their own sets of benefits. A wide range of THCV and CBD products are available, should you decide to buy weed online. Therefore, if you wish, you can beneficially incorporate both into your daily regimen.
