A Start-To-Finish Guide to Make a Beer Ice Bucket Cake

A beer ice bucket cake is the best option for someone who loves drinking beer. This cake is perfect for any event during summer, husband’s birthday or Father’s Day.

You need to follow the steps mentioned below to make a beer ice bucket cake.

Step 1: Prepare the Ice Cubes

Ingredients needed to prepare the ice cubes are flavored gelatine, boiling water and cold water. To make the ice cubes add flavored gelatine into a mixing bowl and add boiling water in it according to the quantity required on the packet. Stir it and add half cup of cold water in it and stir again. Then pour the gelatine into an ice cube tray and freeze it. It will give you ice cubes exactly the ice cubes you get from the ice maker machine.

Step 2: Prepare the Cake

1.) Take cake batter and line some 11-inch round cake pan with butter paper and fill them with cake batter and bake it in a preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes. To check whether the cake is ready or not you can insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean it means your cake is ready. Cut a six-inch circle in the above 3-4 layers in the center of each so that we can have a big indentation in the middle.

2.) Then stack and ice all the layers together and coat the whole cake with buttercream. Then give it a final layer coating of chocolate ganache. Ganache sets up better and firm than buttercream so it’s good to use it for sculpted cakes and cakes that you really want to hold their shape if your ganache starts to get too hard or clumpy dip your spatula in warm water and that will soften it up a bit.

3.) Once the ganache has set it’s time to start rolling out the fondant. So, to cover the cake roll out some brown fondant. Start it from the top and if the ganache is too hard just grab a brush and some water and brush it over the cake before applying the fondant over it. Now roll the fondant over the cake and press it into the hole so that it gets inside the indentations and into all the creases and move it out with hands.

4.) Then measure the length and width of the strip of fondant you require to cover the perimeter of your cake. Now grab a little fondant tool and create wood grain details onto the fondant. Cover the cake with the fondant completely. Now take a fondant knife and create strips around the barrel so that it looks like actual wood strips around the cake. Now mix copper and burgundy food colors and apply them over the strips to give them a real look.

5.) Brush the colors around the cake to give it a really nice stained wood color and to give it a little more life. Then add a little sheen to it and spray it with some gold color mist spray from Wilton then grab black gel food color and brush it around randomly to give it a nice distressed look.

Now add ice cubes inside of the bucket and your favorite beer bottles in it and your beer ice bucket cake is ready.
