Clean Your House in One Day Checklist

Cleaning your house is essential to keep your place up to the mark and the house’s environment hygienic. If you don’t clean your house properly, it will become dirty and a hub of germs and bacteria. Most people find cleaning to be a hassle, so they hire professional cleaners to do the job for them. However, if you want to clean your house yourself, then here is a complete checklist of how to do it on your own in one day. By following this checklist, you can ensure that you don’t leave out anything while cleaning and have a nice and clean place to live.

1- Get Everything Ready

Complete house cleaning of entire house in a day isn’t an easy job if you do everything yourself. Therefore getting organized first is the basic step that should be on the top of your checklist. Make sure your storage room has all the equipment available for cleaning and has detergents as well. Your cleaning material list should also have gloves and aprons to avoid getting dirty during the process.

2- Organize the Closets

If you’re afraid to open your wardrobe in front of anyone because it’s messy, then you must know that it’s time that you organize your closet. Take out the dirty clothes from the closet, take them to laundry, and hang the fresh ones inside with hangers. You can also change the toiletries like bathrobes and towels and replace them with clean and fresh ones.

3- Dust the Entire House

Dusting is one of the main cleaning tasks necessary to keep your place maintained. However, covering the entire house might be difficult, so that you can use some help from other family members. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe from left to right and top to bottom. This can help reduce dust and improve air quality in your home, thereby keeping allergies away. A wet cloth tied to the end of a broom is great to get rid of the cobwebs from the corner of the walls. For lattice blinds, use a string to close in one direction, dust off, then close in the other direction, and repeat. This is much more effective than closing one bar at a time. Don’t forget to remove the dust on the top of the doors, fans, lights, frames, and any decoration pieces. You can also store your decoration pieces in a showcase to reduce dust. Use a cotton or microfiber glass cleaner to avoid streaking on the glass of photo frames, the screens of televisions, and computer monitors.

4- Vacuum Clean

A vacuum cleaner is usually required to clean carpets. So, if you have carpets at your home, you should vacuum clean them to get rid of dirt. You must make sure that your vacuum cleaner bag is not already full. Furthermore, you should use the correct settings and fixtures with the vacuum cleaner. Carpet floors and upholstered furniture throughout the house are the ones that need vacuum cleaning. While vacuum cleaning, you will also find the missing items under the cushions and sofas, i.e., socks and pens.

5- Clean the Floors

Floor mopping, if done right, gives a refreshing appearance to a house. To mop the floor, use a wet microfiber cloth and start from one corner of the room. Use a high-quality detergent for mopping, and once the moping cloth gets dirty, change it or rinse it thoroughly.
